Hot Mirrors

A hot mirror is in essence a thin film coating applied to substrates in effort to reflect infrared radiation either as a means to harness the reflected wavelengths for an application or to remove them from an application. Hot mirrors are crucial in many projection and illumination systems where high levels of heat can quickly damage sensitive components.
Hot Mirrors or Heat blocking filters transmit the visible wavelengths whilst reflecting the NIR wavelengths.
